IELTS ESSAY TOPIC-19

The movement of people from the countryside into the cities is happening in many parts of the world, resulting in the problems, especially in cities. What are the causes of this movement, and how can it be reversed?

Give reasons for your answer, and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

Nowadays most people prefer to move to big cities rather than staying in the countryside reason being ample amount of growth and earning opportunities present in the cities. Not only that, countryside, in general, lacks the adequate medical facilities, which is also a contributing factor to the cause.

However, these movements lead to problems in cities afterwards. As obvious as it could be these moves end up causing high population densities within the cities. Following that larger the population means larger the number of vehicles which is going to cause long term issues like air pollution, noise pollution and higher consumption of fuels which later on would result in expensive purchase of these resources causing economical disruption for a country. On the individual level, the dense population affects job market as well because with the high supply of candidates the companies can hire employees at a lower pay scale which is not only a downside for an individual but for the country's economy too.

However, these movements need to be diminished as soon as possible. There are a number of ways as the first is, providing the decent healthcare facilities to these remote areas. Second, promoting small business on the countryside by handing out trade opportunities and lower rate of interest over business loans, this will not only help out small businesses but end up making employment there only, which can also resist the temptation of moving to cities for an individuals. Last but not least, creating more remote jobs, for IT professionals,  will keep them stay put.

To conclude, I would pen down saying that in order to reverse these continually increasing movements, some lucrative opportunities should be introduced to countryside areas in terms of good healthcare, business and education.
