IELTS ESSAY TOPIC-06

Some people say that advertising encourages us to buy things that we really do not need. Others say that it widens the horizon of our knowledge and tell us about new products that may improve our lives.

Which viewpoint do you agree with?


 Since the inception of advertising, it has been widely observed that people nowadays are spending more on consumer goods even if they do not require them than those who had no access to market know-how. while others support the fact that through advertising people can have more knowledge as well as the comparable options as to which product one may buy.

Advertising gives us clarity about the uses and purpose of the product. Then the discretion is our whether to buy the particular product or not. In addition, marketing not only informs us about the product but also gives the other available options. It is always great if there is more than one option to choose from. 

Moreover, advertising gives us the narrated example of how we can use the latest technology being innovated day by day. As it aids in the knowledge about the new products that have been launched in the market. Purchasing anything require people to get to know about the product even before actually buying it.

Although, advertising has been manipulating those people who are not careful about their money flow and tend to spend more irrespective of the fact whether they actually need the product or not. whereas I believe that purchasing power is always in the hands of the consumer whether to buy or not.

To conclude, I would like to favor the new and upgraded technology we can have access to know through advertising. We now can have products through which we can now constantly improvise our lifestyle.
