The pie charts below show the average household expenditures in a country in 1950 and 2010.
The noticeable differences are in the housing, food, transportation and others sectors whereas the expenses over health care and education have not changed drastically.
Firstly, it is hard to believe that the money spent over housing has changed considerably, where in 1950, people used to spend about 72% of their
income which fell down to 22% in 2010. The other sector that has changed a lot is food, it went up from 11.2% to 34% which is surprising in a
way. Travelling has become more prevalent over time so the expenditure on transportation jumped from 3.3% in 1950 to 14% in 2010. There are minor
changes in the heath care and education as it rose from 2.4% to 4.5% and 6.3% to 6.5%, respectively. Last but not least, the other expenses have taken a huge leap as it increased from 4.4% to 19.2%.
