 Persuade = make somebody agree to something

Adverts = an advertisement

Brand awareness = the extent to which consumers are familiar with the quality or image of a particular brand

Convinced = sure of something

Unavoidable = certain to happen

Commercialized = focused on profits

Effective = achieving its aims 

Ploy = trick or gimmick; something that you say or do in order to get what you want or to persuade somebody to do something

Visualise = mentally picture 

Intrusive = not welcome; being involved in a situation where you are not wanted or do not belong

Promote = advertise 

Exaggerate = magnify the truth

Ignore = pay no attention 

Endorse = recommend a product or brand

Endorsement = to have a well-known person endorse a product

Classified ads = small advertisements often put by individuals in newspapers or magazines

Word of mouth advertising = recommendations made by individuals to others about a product

Call to action = short period during TV programmes when advertisements are shown

Niche product = a product that is aimed at a distinct group of people

Guarantee = promise that something will happen

Gullible = easily tricked or too trusting

Prominent = noticeable /stand out

Pressure = forcefully persuade /compel

Incorporate = use / include /contain

Entice = persuade by offering something/ tempt

Bombard = attack continuously / pester

Inescapable = cannot be avoided / unavoidable
