WRITING TASK-1 (GT)- LETTER 06

 You recently stayed in a hotel in a large city. The weather was very unusual for the time of year and the heating / cooling system in the hotel was quite inadequate.

Write a letter to the manager of the hotel. In your letter:

give details of what went wrong

explain what you had to do to overcome the problem at the time

say what action you would like the manager to take


Dear Sir,

I am Rainy writing to share the inconvenience with you I  faced last week by staying in your hotel. As it was my first time visiting Mumbai city, I had booked a room in  your hotel 'Blue Radisson' in advance. At sight, I was escorted to room number- 122 ,which was a beautiful one. However the air conditioning in the room was not working.

After keeping my luggage in the room I left to visit the city and came back at around 6pm. As it was a hot day and I was very tried, I turned on air conditioner. But to my surprise, it did not work. I called reception, the lady over the call assured me that someone was coming to have a visit and switch it on. The person came at 07:15pm and tried his best to make it work, unfortunately ,he did not succeed. I asked him if I could  have a different room. Then, your staff provided me different room at 10:30pm.

I was really annoyed and the services your hotel has to offer have done nothing but exacerbate the situation. It was not expected from a hotel like yours. I would like to be compensated for the trouble I have faced and recommend you to improve your services for attracting more visitors.
