Some people believe that school children should not be given homework by their teachers, whereas others argue that homework plays an important role in the education of children.
Discuss both of these views and give your own opinion.
With the ever so developing science and technology, the education needs to be changed as well which eventually leads to dumping an ample amount of work load on the children which began the heated argument whether the kids should be given homework or not. To be honest I agree to the former.
Firstly, the idea of discarding the homework completely is absurd and that is fairly obvious. The homework teaches the children discipline, time management and organisation. These traits are not just confined to the school work, these are valuable lessons that would help them out throughout their lives.
Secondly, the cut throat competitive atmosphere is increasing each day so resorting to measures like eliminating the homework will cause more harm than good. Nowadays students are required to put in more efforts than ever. Not to mention the advancing technologies are wiping out the jobs in the market, students now have to hustle to keep with that as well.
Although, it is not hard to understand the opinion of some people who oppose the idea of homework in such abundance as they are saddened to see their kids getting crushed with such a work load at such early age, where they should enjoy their youth to the fullest. This immense pressure with studies and competition leads to depression, which is alarming, and further worries parents.
To conclude, I would say homework is a necessity in academics which can not be evaded but the concerns of the people worried about their kids' mental health are fair as well. Maybe a middle ground could be found where the children can learn without overdoing it.
