PTE Essay 02

Education and nature go together. Some teachers believe that the burden of syllabus does not allow them to take students to do activities in natural surroundings. While another set of practitioners of education opine that students have prolonged learning if done in nature.

Nature has always been an influence in the student’s life to help understand the mechanics of the world in practice. The present scenario of the cut-throat competition in academics has immersed children into the theoretical part of the study. I agree with a small percentage that believes nature can help increase the understanding of the academic syllabi in a clearly defined manner.
Foremost, when education is entwined with nature, it helps students experience the workings first hand and form their own opinions than being imposed upon by books. Therefore, the knowledge retained is much longer and explicit. Also, the dynamics of the surroundings pose a perfect background in greasing the minds of the children for efficient functioning. Another upside is since children are closely related to the creation, they are more likely to adopt ways to protect it in the future since they have experienced its value first hand. The present scenario of discussions and forums to save environment can be dealt with using this technique. On the other hand, if the children are taught in closed classrooms, it can define their minds from one perspective without opening it to different views and opinions. The monotonous classrooms and playgrounds form a cocoon around them to shield them from their participation in biodiversity. Since children are taught to learn everything theoretically, the knowledge with time gets lost from their minds and fails to make an impact in their future. It is precisely the reason why people don’t think twice before cutting down trees or using plastic bags.
In conclusion, the early seeds of nature in the minds of the children go a long way in framing their life ahead. While the classroom teaching is convenient in the routine, the benefits from the activities in the natural surroundings cannot be compared with.
